Home Is What We Make of It

Hey, my name is Samantha Mims and I am a sophomore at UMBC who has yet to find a major, but I have considered making one with Interdisciplinary Studies. I would say that my home is where I feel the most comfortable and that would be around my family, but more specifically my twin sister. If I am thinking something, I can give my sister one look and she will know exactly what it is without me having said a word. No matter where I am, as long as I have my family I can easily call that place "home".

  1. I can totally relate to being a twin myself it never seems that a place feels like home without your sibling(s).

  2. I think it is so great to be so close to and have a connection with a sibling. I am not as close with my brother as I would like to be, so I think it is great that you and your sister have such a strong relationship. Family definitely makes a place feel like "home".

  3. I can relate to your connection with your twin sister. I have a twin brother and we have the same type of relationship as you and your sister do. Family really does make a place feel like home.

  4. As an only child, I find the close relationship twins share very interesting, let alone non-twin siblings. Of course it's not something I can't relate to exactly, but I have had connections with people where one look can communicate an entire paragraph of thoughts. Although, I can only imagine how in-depth or elaborate that relationship can be for you.

  5. It is really amazing how twins can have that interconnection with each other. I have not seen a lot of interdisciplinary studies majors in a majority stem-based school, it is unique how you can stand out like that.
