Brands Don't Define Me

Forever 21; A popular women’s clothing store that has its own form of “cool hunting” by constantly changing its styles based on consumer fashion to match the most recent trends of the current generation. It’s strange that this thought that had never crossed my mind now seems so obvious just by looking at the name of the store. Although I do find myself making stops there often, I believe that the fact that I buy this brand says the same thing about me as when I buy any other brand. I buy what I like and can actually afford.

Childhood Ponytails Are Forever

When the cries of a child could be heard ringing through the house, everyone knew that there were three possible causes. Either the child was being punished, they hurt themselves, or it was a little girl getting her hair done in a ponytail or braids. Most girls, myself included,  had the pleasant experience of getting most of her face pulled back along with her hair so she would look presentable for school. In a weekend in 2002, it was time to get my hair fixed and ruin the day, but that's the price to pay for that timeless style.

Home Is What We Make of It

Hey, my name is Samantha Mims and I am a sophomore at UMBC who has yet to find a major, but I have considered making one with Interdisciplinary Studies. I would say that my home is where I feel the most comfortable and that would be around my family, but more specifically my twin sister. If I am thinking something, I can give my sister one look and she will know exactly what it is without me having said a word. No matter where I am, as long as I have my family I can easily call that place "home".
